We are doing some charity work in conjunction with Olivers Travels, Sol Y Luna, Irish, Maphrao On along with Jo from Para Los Ninos. We are also trying to get Loki La Paz off the ground. (see the Loki Community )

For the actual festivities, these are our plans.

22nd December:

Delivering presents to the IDAI home for mentally handicapped children. Unfortunately we can’t bring anyone with us as clearance is required in advance. But you can help us by leaving presents, clothes or donations in any of the places mentioned above.

24th December:

Get tucked into a proper Christmas Dinner in Oliver’s Travels and then proceed directly to dementia without passing Go. Mental note to self, must find Guinness.

A few days ago I had the bright idea of inviting professional photographer and Loki Legend Phil Rice to capture in film the embryonic hostel before it becomes Loki La Paz. It was a nice distraction to from work to walk around with Phil and take these photos. They are now available in the Image Gallery.

Hope you are all enjoying the site and the new features we implemented over the last couple of days. Membership is now hovering aroudn 100, we hope to get that to 200 by the end of the week so that you can get in touch with friends and keep up with the latest gossip and scandal from Loki.

In La Paz myself and Dror have been waiting for the contract for the building which we got yesterday. All going well it will be signed today and we can start working proper on it. Ended up in the Irish Bar in Sopacachi ( again ) last night and are feeling fairly rough this morning, but some good came out of it. We met Jo who works in Adventure Brew and who does charity work in orphanages in La Paz. We hope to be able to help with some charity events in La Paz by collecting money and gifts in Ollies, Sol Y Luna and the Irish Bar from backpackers and fellow travellers. A couple of days ago Paul visited us here on a border run, to return my hat, to nab Tawnee or a combination of all three we aren't sure. Either way he was a welcome sight and we relived old times by sitting in Olivers Travels and watching Fashion TV.

In a bold fashion statement, Dror has decided to protest against the proliferation of Mowhawks amongst his coworkers and has shaved an anti Mohwahk into his head.

The pics previously displayed in the Image Gallery were too dark due to poor light conditions. I have edited them so hopefully you can get a better idea of the beauty of the house. Pictures previously too dark to post now reveal the embryonic Loki La Paz.

Yesterday saw us going through the new building inch by inch, planning Common areas, toilets, the bar area, internet room etc, to make Loki La Paz a worthy succesor to Loki Cusco, for all of you wonderful people to enjoy.

In the evening, myself and Dror went out for a meal with an old friend of Loki Hostel last night in La Paz, the world infamous Huevo. We ate in Alex´s Thai restaurant Maphra oh, just next to Mongos and then headed to Traffic, afterwards we went to Ram Jams which wasnt as Ram Jammed as it usually is, so we hit the hay.

This morning we got our "Objeto determinado" on our passports which basically gives us until the 22nd January to get all our paperwork together for our 1 year residency.
